Gallery Gachet named for van Gogh’s psychiatrist, of whom he was fond. this gallery exhibits work by persons with diagnosed mental illness.

For those of you interested in visiting this gallery when you are in Vancouver it is on East Hastings, just past the fashionable bits of gastown on the south side of the street, at least it will be there until this block also falls to the demolition plans of the city to restructure everything for those two weeks of the winter olympics without any concerns for the needs of the population which now, because life has handed some lemons is their rat infested, bedbug riddled homes. New Posting – Studies on globalisms

It no doubt give away my age that I was a big fan of the old series “The Prisoner”, which evolved from the earlier Danger Man, Secret Agent with Patrick McGoohan. It was a surreal re-education camp for spies who knew too much but were too good to be merely snuffed out. Large globes would keep strong minded individuals from wandering away and without ability to communicate with the world. That’s how I started on this series of images, as an homage – tongue in cheek – to “The Prisonert;, via some big brother discussions of late.
