ABOUT THE RIVERSLEIGH SET

“Imagine for a moment that you are stretched out on a couch with a comfortable group of well-heeled friends who are brought together by their love of the written word, their love of fine art, and their love of their own voices. People who sit together on numerous occasions for the simple pleasure of talking about anything that comes to mind—politics, love, painting, their upper-class friends and colleagues, their own writing, other people’s writing (especially if they don’t like certain popular or rising writers, and they wish to make their views known). Imagine participating in exciting debate or idle chatter, or exchanging your latest work of fiction for that of your friends in order to help solidify a sentence or clarify an image. All the while, hot drinks and platters of food are passed around to quench other forms of hunger and thirst.”

This is the Riversleigh Set, a group who live together at Lemuria’s Riversleigh Manor and who inhabit Riversleigh Village.

Riversleigh Manor, presided over by Sibyl Riversleigh, is the main base for residents, who often pack and trek with the Gypsies, or alone, to places like the Hermitage, the Abbey, the Faraway Tree, the City of Ladies and the Lemurian Archipelago. It is an idyllic retreat for artists and writers drawn to the Murmuring Woods, the salon style environment of the Tavern di Muse and who want to spend time with kindred spirits.

CONDITIONS

Riversleigh Manor & the realms of Lemuria are operated by Heather Blakey, the creator of Soul Food Cafe, with the support of volunteers. These terms of use (“Terms of Use” will hereafter be referred to as “TOU”) apply to and govern your use of Soul Food, the Manor House, collaborative Soul Food Cafe Blogs and the Pro Board Discussion Boards (as hereinafter defined, and, collectively referred to as the “Site”).

An individual, upon setting up a ‘Room at Riversleigh’ using WordPress, must enlist Heather Blakey as an administrator. Residents are totally free to have blogs, other than their room, for business or private reasons and there is no expectation that these will have links to the Soul Food Cafe. However, all Riversleigh rooms must promote Lemuria and the Soul Food Cafe and feature work that is helps to populate this realm.

A ‘Room’ can only be given the seal of approval, or visa, by Heather Blakey when she personally inserts the Soul Food logo and identifies this room as being a space supported by the Soul Food Cafe.

 

The Riversleigh Set is a group of artists and writer’s who live, beyond the portal of Soul Food, within the world of Lemuria. All approved Riversleigh Set members belong to the Soul Food Contsellation and you will find this passport stamp on their ‘Room at Riversleigh’.

Riversleigh Set members have free access to all parts of Lemuria. In return for this free access and the associated traffic and readership, it is expected that residents will contribute regularly by making posts, adding comments to the work of others and by initiating projects and acting as Lemurian Ambassadors.

LICENSE TO USE THE SITE

Heather Blakey, the sole creator of the Soul Food Cafe, grants Riversleigh Set members permission to access, use and display material from the Soul Food Cafe for personal use only, provided that members comply fully with this TOS. Riversleigh Set members shall not interfere or attempt to interfere with the operation of the Site in any way through any means or device including, but not limited to, spamming, hacking, uploading computer viruses or time bombs, or the means expressly prohibited by any provision of this TOU. You are not permitted to reproduce any material presented by individual Lemurians without their express permission. All creative material remains the property of its creator, and is protected by copyright.

CHANGES TO SITE AND/OR TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

Soul Food Cafe reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to change, modify, add or remove any portion of the Site or this TOU, in whole or in part, at any time. Changes to this TOU will be effective when posted. You agree to review this TOU periodically to be aware of any changes. Your continued use of the Site after any changes to this TOU are posted will be considered acceptance of those changes.

DISCUSSION BOARDS

Members of Soul Food and the Riversleigh Set are entitled to join all blogs and forums within the Soul Food constellation. Forums are provided by  Yahoo Groups to you and others subject to their own TOU and TOS, and the presence of volunteer Soul Food Cafe moderators to regulate same. Soul Food Cafe reserves the right to change and/or moderate these discussions at any time.

ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

Use of WordPress and Yahoo Groups constitutes your agreement to comply with their own TOU and TOS. At the sole discretion of Soul Food Cafe, inappropriate messages may be deleted, and users may be permanently banned from using any Soul Food Cafe service or discussion group under its banner. It is strongly encouraged for any user of these services to familiarise themselves with the TOU and TOS, outlined on the sites of the respective providers.

LINKED SITES

Soul Food is not necessarily affiliated with sites which may be linked to or from the Site (the “Linked Sites”) and is not responsible for their content. Links from the Site to the Linked Sites are for your convenience only and you access them at your own risk.

NO RESALE / EXPLOITATION

You understand and agree that you may not reproduce, copy, resell, manipulate, or exploit any part of the Site for any commercial purpose.

TERMINATION

You understand and agree that Soul Food Cafe may, in its sole discretion and at any time, ban your access to the site or any use of a board, and discard and remove any Content posted or submitted by you to any Board, for any reason. The Soul Food Cafe may also, in its sole discretion and at any time, discontinue any Board or limit or restrict any user’s access thereto, for any reason. You understand and agree that Soul Food Cafe may take any one or more of these actions without prior notice to you. Should Soul Food Cafe take any of these actions, it may, in its sole discretion, immediately deactivate and/or delete any or all information posted by you including your Registration Information and submitted Content. You understand and agree that Soul Food Cafe shall not have any liability to you or any other person for any termination of your access to any Board.

THE SITE, THE SITE MATERIALS, AND THE SOFTWARE UTILIZED (WordPress, Squidoo, Proboards, Yahoo, Flickr & similar image hosting sites, and products under the Google Banner), IF APPLICABLE, ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” AND WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
